Mrs. Tarr’s Classroom

About Mrs. Tarr

I have been a teacher for over 25 years.  During my career I have taught preschool, kindergarten, first grade, third grade, and currently teach second grade.  I have a Bachelors degree in early childhood education, a Masters degree in special education, and will soon complete my CAGS as a math specialist.  I have worked with English language learners, children with autism, hearing impairments, language delays, and children of diverse abilities and learning styles.  Teaching is my passion.

As a teacher, I strive to create a positive learning environment that nurtures respect for self and others, fosters a positive self-image, and creates a community of learners who work together cooperatively and celebrate the joy of learning. I want my students to become excited about the possibilities and potentials of learning, feel comfortable taking risks, and become confident learners who look forward to each new school day. Every child is special and important to me and I want to ensure a rewarding school experience for all of my students.

My family is a very important part of my life. I live in Beverly with my husband and our two dachshunds. We have four older children; one married and two in college.  I enjoy reading, traveling, taking walks along the beach, playing board games, and spending time with my family.
